Curriculum

In our setting all the staff follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which is the curriculum for children aged birth to 5years.  We use this to support and develop each individual child’s potential through child led activities helping them progress at their own pace.

The framework provides four main principals which include:

A Unique Child: Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Positive Relationships: Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with Parents and/or a Key person.

Enabling Environment: The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.

Learning and Development: Children develop and learn in different ways and a different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected

 

 

The Early Years Foundation Stage framework is made up of seven different areas, including three prime areas.  All areas are as equally important and will be used in our teaching of the children as well as to track your child’s progress, helping us to support them in working towards achieving and all round development.  The seven areas of the EYFS include:
